PLATEER Expands into Japan's E-commerce Market with Agentic Shopping App ‘gelatto’

2026-06-23

▶ gelatto shopping app launched on Android and iOS, offering a live showcase of genser Discovery's UI/UX

▶ Partnerships with major affiliate networks in Japan; B2C revenue based on 1.5 million SKUs taking shape

▶ ‘Agentic commerce flywheel’ strategy that connects B2B and B2C for global markets

Plateer (CEO Lee Sang-hoon), an agentic commerce company, announced on June 23 that it has launched mobile apps of its agentic discovery platform gelatto for the Korean and Japanese markets this week on Google Play (Android) and the App Store (iOS), accelerating its push into the global agentic commerce market.

The app launch serves two purposes: a ‘live showcase’ that demonstrates the technology of Plateer's B2B solution genser Discovery on mobile, and the full launch of an independent B2C business aimed at Japan.

genser Discovery is an AI solution that uses a conversational, agentic discovery UI to guide site visitors to the products they want through natural dialogue, all the way to purchase. Plateer built gelatto on the same technology so that business customers can see genser Discovery's UI/UX for themselves before deciding to adopt it. Through the app, both business customers and consumers can experience in real time how Plateer's agentic technology works in mobile shopping and leads to purchases.

genser Discovery is also gaining traction in Japan. SHOPLIST, a major Japanese fashion mobile platform, ran a public PoC (proof of concept) from May and will begin full service in July. The e-commerce platform of a global sports brand from Japan has been running a public PoC since June, with a full service contract expected in September. A PoC has also been confirmed with a B2B online store for food and ingredients run by a major Japanese logistics company.

Although gelatto began as a technology showcase, in Japan it is evolving into a platform that generates independent B2C revenue through local partnerships.

gelatto has already connected more than 1.5 million products (SKUs) and aims to reach 10 million SKUs by the end of the year. It has completed integrations with three major affiliate marketing services in Japan: A8.net, Rakuten Group's LinkShare, and Yahoo! JAPAN-affiliated ValueCommerce. Each time a consumer finds a product through AI search in the gelatto app and buys it at a partner store, performance-based revenue is generated, which is expected to drive independent B2C overseas revenue in the second half of the year.

The shopping behavior data of B2C users coming through the gelatto app flows back to improve the AI engine of genser Discovery. The B2B solution grows the B2C platform, and the B2C platform in turn improves the B2B technology — an ‘agentic commerce flywheel’.

Lee Bong-kyo, Head of Plateer Japan, said, “For business customers, gelatto is a mirror that shows the performance of genser Discovery. In Japan, it is also an independent business model that delivers B2C results together with major affiliate networks.” He added, “With this mobile app launch, we will demonstrate the competitiveness of our AX solutions on the global stage and deliver visible results.”
